Outreach
Outreach

During 2009, Outreach Ministries, along with our Grace Episcopal Church family, continued to “Love our neighbors as ourselves.”  Grace Church assisted hundreds of our neighbors in our local community and beyond by allowing God’s love to pass through us to others in their time of need.

As stewards of the talent and treasure provided to Outreach, we were able to provide financial assistance to:

Mid-City Nutrition Safe Horizons

Neighborhood Ecumenical Team (N.E.T.) Habitat for Humanity

Bus with Gus Scholarships Bridge Builders

Salvation Army Helping Hands Ministries

Our Grace Church family has developed a strong legacy of giving to our local community.  We continue to serve those in need through the following projects:

· Easter Food Baskets - provided food for 25 Woodrow Wilson families

· Sent shoeboxes packed with toiletry and warm winter items for senior citizens and children to the Cheyenne River Indian Reservation in South Dakota

· Sponsored two 4th grade classes from Cleveland School to attend Earthkeepers

· Parents’ Day - arranged for Bridge Builders’ children to give gifts to 15 parents and enjoy family entertainment of bowling or museum visits

· Nail Sale – raised $263.41 to support Habitat for Humanity

· Apple Project – provided new back-to-school clothing for 16 Bridge Builder and other neighborhood children

· Angel-to-Angel Project – gifts of toys & clothing, as well as a food basket helped 24 families (59 children) celebrate Christmas

· Crop Walk –raised $1241 to help relieve world hunger; 25% went to our local Midcity Nutrition Soup Kitchen and Blue Water Food Depot

· Soup Kitchen –42 Grace volunteers manned the Soup Kitchen 24 Saturdays

· Salvation Army bell ringing – provided bell ringers for 6 hours
